WPIC Expands Northeast Asia Practice with New FTZ Warehouse in Weihai

Shanghai, China — November 4, 2023 — WPIC Marketing + Technologies, the leading growth partner for brands in Asian markets, has signed an agreement to open a state-of-the-art, free trade zone (FTZ) logistics facility in Weihai.

The new FTZ warehouse is poised to play a pivotal role in helping WPIC drive growth for its brand partners in Northeast Asia. Strategically located in close proximity to South Korea and Japan, the new distribution hub  in Weihai will enable WPIC to rapidly fulfill cross-border e-commerce orders from these markets, in addition to Northeast China.

“Our investment in the Weihai FTZ warehouse reaffirms WPIC’s commitment to enabling our clients’ growth in Northeast Asia,” said Joseph Cooke, President of WPIC Marketing + Technologies. “We look forward to breaking ground on this innovative facility immediately and continuing to support our brand partners in achieving their goals in this dynamic region.”

This state-of-the-art facility in Weihai complements WPIC’s existing warehousing infrastructure, which spans 180,000 square feet across various locations in China. It also represents WPIC’s second government-approved bonded FTZ distribution facility in China.

The new facility will be located in the Weihai Comprehensive Bonded Zone, which means inventory can be stored there before clearing customs—and can be purchased on an item-by-item basis on cross-border e-commerce platforms across the region.

“This new facility will allow WPIC to meet the growing demand for cross-border e-commerce fulfillment in Northeast Asia from multinational brand partners,” said Laura Wang, Vice President of Logistics. “Our brands will be able to leverage a single-source inventory for the region that is stored in close proximity to the key markets of Japan and South Korea, as well as Northeast China, which will drive significant efficiencies.”

As part of the official launch, WPIC Marketing + Technologies welcomed government officials and business partners from Shandong province and the Weihai Comprehensive Bonded Zone to a signing ceremony held in Shanghai. The event was organized in collaboration with the Canadian Consulate in Shanghai on the sidelines of the China International Import Expo (CIIE).
